MAINTAIN CHART OF ACCOUNT


When we open the Peach tree file this window will be open and we can choose “Open an existing company”


We choose the “Maintain” on left side options on the top and choose the option “Chart of accounts”


A new window will be open of maintain chart of accounts


Below the window of " Maintain Charts of Accounts"


We can enter the Account ID , Description , Account Type .


Where “2” is written we can enter the Description like Cash,Accounts Receivable etc



Where “3” is written we can select the Account Type and  click on where CIRCLE and then select the account type which match with the description.




HOW TO ENTER BEGINNING BALANCES:


We will build a new company and make chart of accounts in it, we click on maintain and select option Chart of accounts this window will appear:

We can put the Beginning Balances in this Chart of Accounts which is shown in circle and before entering beginning balances we check that retained earnings account can be made or not and if we don’t made it is necessary to made.



After clicking on beginning balances this type of window will be open  in CIRCLE and we select the “Year” and then click on OK option.



A new window will be open we can put all the values of beginning balances and after completing it we can check that both assets and liabilities are equal or not if not equal we must corrected the amounts and then click on OK option on the left upper corner of window

How To Open “ Peach-tree Accounting”



This window shows the options that what we want to do. You want to open an existing company, Set up a new company, Learn about Peach tree Accounting through an online tutorial, Explore a sample company, Convert from a Quick-books or One-Write plus company, or Close this window. So we want to open new company so we click on “Set up a new company”


After clicking on “Set up a new Company” a new introductory window open in which we have tell Name and Address , Chart of Accounts, Accounting Methods, Posting Methods and Accounting periods of the company. We click next button to proceed.


In this window we have to tell Company Name, Address, City, State, Zip, Country Business Type, Email, Telephone, Fax. After giving information we click next.


In this we have to mention the “Chart of Accounts” whether we are Construction, Manufacture or Distributor. You are using existing chart of accounts, Copy of existing company, convert another accounting program or to build your own company. Then we click on “Build your own company”


Clicking on “Build your own company” a window open in which “Accounting Method”. There are two types of accounting methods First is Accrual Basis  second is Cash Basis. In Accrual income is recorded as you invoice customer and expenses are recorded when you receive bills from vendors. Most companies use this method. In cash income is recorded when cash is received and expenses are recorded when paid. Once you choose the accounting method it didn't change.So we click on “Accrual” and click on next button for further proceed.


After clicking next window open of “Posting Method”. In this window we have to select the posting method for our transactions. There are two types of posting Real Time and Batch. In Real Time transactions are posted to the general ledger as they are entered and saved. Most of the companies use this method and in Batch transactions are saved by the program and then posted in a group. This method allows you to print registers and analyze a group of transactions before posting the journals. and u can change posting method at any time. Selecting “Real Time” option and click next.


A window opens in which “Accounting Periods” are mentioned. There are two options are displayed on the window. One is 12 Monthly Accounting Periods and second is accounting period that do not match the calendar months. Select “12 monthly accounting periods” and press next button.



In this “Monthly Accounting Periods” you have to choose monthly accounting periods. Peach tree Accounting will automatically set up your first two fiscal years based on the information provided below:
1, When do you want your first fiscal year to start? 2, What is the first month you will be entering data? This year should be mentioned carefully. In last What is the first year you will be entering payroll? Select your desire years and then press next button to proceed. 





In this last window the software “Congratulation” you to finish your setting up “ Peach tree Accounting Company” with full information you give to the software. Click “Finish” button to finish the setup windows “Click Finish to close the Wizard”


This shows your information is “Creating data Files”


Finally this window will appear in front of screen which means your company is build in “ Peach tree Accounting”

Opening Microsoft Word Documents

We'll shortly add an address to the top of our Library Complaint letter. Before we do that, we'll learn how to open a file. After all, you might have closed down Microsoft Word, or your computer might have crashed. The result being that you no longer have your library letter loaded into Word. So here's how to Open a file you have saved, and want to work on again.
From the File menu, click Open:



The Open dialogue box appears, and looks like the image below:


The Open dialogue box looks very similar to the Save As dialogue box. "Save in", "File name", and "Files of type" work in exactly the same way as the Save As dialogue box. Notice, though that the File name text box is blank, and the Open button is not available. It has been greyed out.
The reason that the Open button is greyed out, and therefore not available, is that text box is empty. Once you select a file, the Open button will be ready for us.
But the text box is empty because no file has been selected. A file is selected from the larger white area in the middle. Clicking on the file once with the left hand mouse button will select a file. In the previous image, there was only one file available for selection - a document called "rrKeyCaps.doc". That is not the one we want.
To locate the file we want, we need to open the folder called "My WP Projects". Because that's where we saved it. You can see from the image that this folder is in the list of folders, just below the folder called My Pictures:


You can see also that we are in the folder called My Documents. To open up the folder we want, simply double click it. This will take us inside the My WP Projects:


The whole Open dialogue box now looks like this:


The file we want, Library Letter, has been clicked on. As a result, the Open button is no longer greyed out. We can go ahead and click it. When we do, our letter will open in Microsoft Word.
To recap then on how to open a file. Do the following
· Navigate to the folder where the file was saved
· Click on the file to select it
· Click the Open button
OK, now that you know how to Open a file, we can start adding the address to our letter.
